NCB700-240/110 FAQs
How do I know which NCB700 model is right for my home?
The right model depends on both your home’s space-heating load and your household’s hot water demand. A qualified Navien installer will size the system for your home rather than selecting a boiler based on square footage alone.
Can this NCB700 model be converted to propane?
Yes. NCB700 boilers come configured for natural gas, and the required propane conversion kit is included. Conversion must be completed by a qualified professional using the Navien-supplied kit.
Can the NCB700 be installed outdoors?
No. NCB700 combi-boilers are designed for indoor, wall-hung installation only.
How much clearance does the NCB700 need?
For indoor installation, the minimum clearances are 9 inches above the boiler, 12 inches below, 3 inches at each side, 4 inches in front and 0.5 inch behind the unit. Additional space may be needed for piping, venting and service access.
What’s the minimum hot water flow needed for the NCB700 to activate?
The NCB700 begins domestic hot water operation when its flow sensor detects approximately 0.5 GPM or more of hot water demand. That’s roughly the flow you might get from a bathroom faucet turned partway on. You don’t need to open a tap fully for the boiler to recognize hot water demand.
How hot can domestic hot water temperature get with the NCB700?
The NCB700 allows domestic hot water temperature settings from 86°F to 140°F. The appropriate setting depends on household needs and should be configured with scald protection in mind.
What size venting does the NCB700 use?
The NCB700 supports 2-inch or 3-inch venting for direct-vent installations. The maximum allowable vent length depends on pipe size, material and the number of fittings in the vent system.
